Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Evolya app (“Evolya”, “the app”) uses, why, and who it is shared with. Evolya is published by DRF GROUP LLC (“we”, “us”). Questions or requests: drfgroup.group@gmail.com.
In short
- There is no account. Your journal, your conversation with Léa and your breakup report are stored on your device.
- AI features only send what they need, through our server, to our AI provider (OpenAI).
- The WhatsApp export file you import never leaves your device. Only an anonymized excerpt is analyzed.
- We use analytics to improve the app and measure our ad campaigns. We never sell your data and the app shows no ads.
1. Data stored on your device
Evolya stores on your device: your first name, your answers to the welcome questions, your journal entries and moods, your no contact counter, your progress in the program, your conversation with Léa, your breakup report and your settings. This data stays on your device and is deleted when you delete the app. “New conversation” in the coach erases the conversation history.
2. AI features
Léa (the AI coach), personalized affirmations, the breakup report and the recovery plan are written by artificial intelligence. When you use them, the app sends the necessary information to our server, hosted by Vercel, which checks your subscription and forwards the request to OpenAI, our AI provider. Our server does not store the content of these requests.
- Coach and affirmations: your messages, your first name, your situation and welcome answers, your most recent journal entries and, if you created one, a summary of your breakup report.
- WhatsApp analysis: the export file is read on your device. Only an excerpt of about 250 messages is sent, after anonymization: your names become “Me” and “Ex”, and other first names, phone numbers, email addresses, usernames and links are masked. Statistics (message counts, response times) are calculated on your device.
- Questionnaire instead of a conversation: your answers and your profile, without your first name.
The WhatsApp analysis asks for your permission, naming OpenAI, before anything is sent. The coach and personalized affirmations send the information above each time you use them. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf, does not use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it. A random identifier linked to your subscription is attached to each request so we can limit abuse; it does not reveal who you are.
3. Subscriptions
Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions: it receives a random user identifier, your purchases and subscription status, your country and basic device information.
4. Analytics
We use PostHog (servers in the European Union) to understand how the app is used and improve it: features opened, steps completed, your answers to the welcome questions (for example your situation, when the breakup happened, who ended it, what hurts most and your goal), app version, device model, operating system, language and approximate location derived from your IP address (country, city). We do not send the content of your journal, your messages to Léa or your WhatsApp conversation to PostHog.
5. Ad attribution and tracking
Evolya shows no ads. We use Tenjin to measure which of our ad campaigns bring new users. If you allow tracking when the app asks (App Tracking Transparency), Tenjin receives your device’s advertising identifier; if you decline, it does not, and the app works the same way. You can change this choice at any time in your iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
6. Notifications and photos
Reminders and affirmations are local notifications scheduled on your device; you can turn them off in the app or in Settings. If you opt in to tips and news, this choice is recorded in our analytics and subscription tools. Evolya only asks to add photos when you choose to save an image you share; it never reads your photo library.
7. Who we share data with
We never sell your data. We only share it with the service providers listed above (OpenAI, Vercel, RevenueCat, PostHog, Tenjin, and Apple for payments), who process it on our behalf, or when required by law. Some of these providers are located in the United States; transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
8. Legal bases (EU and UK users)
We process your data to provide the app and your subscription (contract), with your consent for the WhatsApp analysis, tracking, notifications and marketing communications (which you can withdraw at any time), and on the basis of our legitimate interest to measure and improve the app and keep it secure.
9. How long we keep data
Data on your device stays until you delete it or the app. Analytics and subscription data are kept as long as needed to run and improve the app, then deleted or anonymized. AI requests are not stored by our server and are kept for up to 30 days by OpenAI.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, or receive a copy. Write to drfgroup.group@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. Because there is no account, we may ask for details that help us find the data linked to your device. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
11. Children
Evolya is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (15 in France), please use the app with a parent’s permission.
12. Not a medical service
Evolya supports you after a breakup but does not replace a doctor or a mental health professional. If you are in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, call your local emergency number now (911 or 988 in the US, 112 or 3114 in France).
13. Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will be announced in the app.
